CAMCLUE
Privacy Policy
Effective July 17, 2026
The short version
Your checks stay on your device. CamClue has no account system, advertising network, analytics SDK, or scan-results server. We do not sell personal information or track you across apps or websites.
Data leaves CamClue only when you deliberately use an iOS share or export action, or when Apple processes a purchase or operating-system diagnostic under its own policies.
What the app processes
- Local Network: devices, addresses and service responses visible to your current Wi-Fi network.
- Bluetooth: nearby Bluetooth advertisements, device identifiers exposed by iOS, and relative signal strength.
- Camera: live frames used for lens-glint and front-infrared checks. CamClue does not save a photo or video from these checks.
- Motion & Magnetometer: device orientation and magnetic-field readings used during a magnetic check.
- Room Map: RoomPlan geometry created only when you start Room Map on compatible LiDAR hardware.
These signals can be incomplete or ambiguous. They are used to present clues and coverage, not to identify a person or guarantee that a space is safe.
Permissions and your control
Local Network, Bluetooth, Camera and Motion access are requested only when a related feature needs them. iOS also requires precise When In Use location authorization before it can expose the current Wi-Fi name. CamClue uses that authorization only to request and display the SSID; it never starts location updates or reads or stores coordinates. You can deny or later revoke any permission in iOS Settings. CamClue labels a denied, unavailable or failed check as incomplete; it does not convert missing access into a “nothing found” result.
Local storage and deletion
CamClue stores up to 30 recent scan summaries in the app’s Application Support folder so History can work. The file is excluded from device backup, written atomically, and protected with iOS complete file protection. Room Map data and export files are created only for the task you start.
Use Settings → Clear Scan History to delete saved summaries. Deleting CamClue removes its app container and local data. Temporary share files are removed when the share flow finishes or at the next cleanup opportunity.
Sharing and support diagnostics
Nothing is shared automatically. When you choose Share or Export, iOS shows the destination and you control who receives the selected item. A diagnostic report is generated only after you request it.
Support diagnostics intentionally exclude Wi-Fi names, IP addresses, Bluetooth identifiers, device names, optical coordinates and RoomPlan data. Review any export before sending it, because notes or destinations you add outside CamClue are controlled by you and the receiving service.
Collection, tracking and third parties
We do not collect personal data, run advertising, build profiles, or use third-party analytics. CamClue may receive Apple MetricKit performance or crash notifications on-device; it records only aggregate payload counts in the unified system log and does not upload the payload.
Apple processes App Store purchases, subscription eligibility and certain device diagnostics according to Apple’s policies. CamClue receives only the StoreKit information needed to display products and determine entitlement.
Lawful use and younger users
Use CamClue only in spaces and on networks you own or are authorized to inspect. The app is not directed to children under 13, and because we do not operate accounts or collect personal data, we do not knowingly maintain children’s personal information.
Changes and contact
If this policy changes materially, the effective date above will be updated in the app. Questions or privacy requests can be sent to pandasroom@outlook.com. Please do not email scan exports or sensitive location details unless they are necessary for your support request.
